The mission of the Veterans Service Office is to educate the citizens of Minnehaha County about state and federal benefits for veterans and their dependents and survivors, and to assist in application for these benefits. The Veterans Service Officer has forms, information and referrals available for:

The Veterans Service Office will help you in identifying the necessary documents and paperwork you need as a veteran. Veterans are encouraged to register their discharge information (DD Form 214, Report of Separation) with the Minnehaha County Registrar of Deeds.
For veterans unable to come into the office because of a disability or health, the Veterans Service Officer will arrange a visit to the nursing home, hospital, etc. The Veterans Service Officer is available for presentations to build awareness of veteran benefits.
Launched in 2011, MakeTheConnection.net connects Veterans, their family members and friends, and other advocates with mental health information, local resources, and Veterans’ own inspiring stories of recovery.
